ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) manage a national standard for pressure vessel construction. ASME standards for pressure vessels are applicable to design, fabrication, inspection, testing and certification.
Apache followed some high-compliance vessel projects coming through our ASME facility and created a video to showcase many of the construction, finishing, assembly, and quality processes throughout the ASME manufacturing process.
ASME Construction
Pressure vessel construction parameters are determined by ASME code and Apache’s compliance engineering team. ASME construction conditions are approved by the ASME inspector when required by code.
ASME Code Welding
ASME standards define the quality, type and finishing of welds to maintain the structured integrity of a pressure vessel. Apache’s welding technicians are certified to weld specifications according to the ASME code.
Multi-Process Finishing
Another specification for ASME will call out the specific RA (Roughness Average) of inside and outside finishes. This ASME specification ensures the quality and safety of construction and components, accomplished with mechanical finishing, pickle passivation and electropolishing.
ASME Components
Gauges, valves, pressure outlets are among the safety components that require compliance in ASME design pressure vessels. Components are specifically selected to the performance and compliance of the ASME vessel.
ASME Testing & Certifications
ASME tests are performed by the Quality Assurance team to comply with ASME certifications required for the vessel. Turnover packets are completed after the vessel is manufactured and provided to the customer.
