Passivation & Pickling
Passivation is a chemical process that removes free iron and iron compounds from the surface of stainless steel using nitric or citric acid-based solutions.
Pickle Passivation is the immersion of stainless steel in a nitric-hydrofluoric acid bath, removing metallic contamination and heat-treating scale, resulting in a smoother surface that improves cleanability and sanitation.
Apache’s pickle passivation tanks have extensive capacity beyond 7 ft depth and 45 ft long baths; we also can support a multitude of fixtures to support any custom size.
Electropolishing
Electropolishing is an electrochemical process that removes surface material from stainless steel, producing a mirror-like finish.
- Enhanced corrosion resistance
- Superior cleanability and sanitation performance
- Excellent release properties and reduced bacterial attachment
Apache’s electropolishing tanks have capacities up to 6 feet deep and 14 1/2 feet wide.
Bead Blasting Rounds Out Comprehensive Finishing
With bead blasting on vessel and food processing exteriors, Apache has increased capacity for bead blasting services. As experts in handling stainless, we will deliver a consistent matte finish by eliminating heat tint and surface irregularities every time.
We control each stage for your single or multi-process project supporting all finishes required for your application.
